Post this before November ended? Eh, that'd be too easy. Actually, with my wonky internet and LJ having trouble, I'm just glad things are loading. ^^; Here's the last of my people sketches, and thankfully no potato-heads this time.

Also have some sketches of Avatar Kyoshi, as practice for a current project. I like how she turned out in these; she's my favorite Avatar. :3

Didn't get around to drawing yesterday, so had to make sure I got 15 today. As before, it's mostly facial practice. And like before, it's mainly hit or miss. =/ I think I'm getting a better hang on noses, but the mouths and general proportions are still a mess. Oh well; "it's only by going through a volume of work that you will improve."

Facial practice continues, this time with help from an old magazine and a recent Dell handout with strangely creepy models.

To help motivate myself to sketch more, I am going to try NaNoDrawMo. The rules are to make 50 drawings in 30 days, with no limits on style, medium, or even quality. Although since I'm starting half-way into the month and the new Zelda game comes out this Sunday, it feels a lot more like 50 drawings in 7 days. Haha. So yeah, a lot of it is going to be like today's post, with just a lot of people practice and random food watercolors.

Normally I would freak out and would try to only include the sketches I like, or debate eternally whether a page of sketches should count as one whole or for each individual drawing in it. But I don't have time, and I'd rather see how many I can actually get done this week. Besides, the NaNo challenges are always about quantity over quality, right? I think I can make the 50, but we'll see.

Getting back into the drawing thing, after a month of crocheting and pumpkin carving. (Okay, the carving didn't take a month, but 13 hours straight is pretty close, right?) (Oh, speaking of which, said pumpkin carvings are over here.) I've been neglecting this blog again and I don't really like that, so I will be doing better. Starting with: Watercolor.

I saw Captain America: The First Avenger maybe two weeks ago; have been a bit obsessed with it since. I haven't felt this way toward a movie in a long time, it's kinda nice. And also a lot better with Tumblr and their endless supply of awesome animated gifs. (I've been partial to this set, along with this Thor one, hee.) So, yes, wasting all of my free time, not regretting a thing. <3

But back to drawing. I need to do more of it! I am horribly dependent on my patience and fine-tuning/erasing skills to make up for actual drawing knowledge, and I would like to have some actual drawing knowledge. Or be able to finish drawing something in a few hours rather than a few weeks. Apparently that requires repetition, which is also not one of my strong suits, if my five-inch abandoned scarf is any indication. So I will be back to posting sketches, even if they are terrible and messy, because I am just going to have to get over that fear as well. I guess what I'm saying is that I'm apologizing in advance. And also that there's another spoilery Captain America comic on the way.

Haven't been drawing much since that last post -- been working on crocheting a Korra amigurumi doll. I finally finished it, though! It is a prize for this year's Avatar Pumpkin Carving Contest, and mostly I'm just glad to have it done. I really need to find some of those standard amigurumi eyes before I make any more though; embroidering eyes is a nightmare. D:

Not much arting this week, too many October things to prepare for. One thing kind of slipped in though; while working on a new layout for one of my sites, I realized I couldn't just manga-color one of the official images so I completely redrew it and colored it normally. I'm not entirely happy with it but it'll do.

Made some progress on coloring the Mask Salesman pic, I'm especially happy with how Tatl turned out. I'm kind of doing the coloring half in GIMP and half in MyPaint. Blending is really nice in MyPaint, but it doesn't have lockable layers so I'll probably do the bulk of the character colors in GIMP to keep things orderly. But it's kind of fun switching between the two. Hopefully I'll have this all done by next week.

Yes, something finished for September. Now if I can just finish coloring that Mask piece, I'll fill some imaginary quota. But back to this one. It's inspired by some of the new Skyward Sword spoilers, specifically that your bird will save Link if you miss the location/island you're jumping towards. Heehee. It sounded too sweet, so I had to draw it. <3

The pic on the left is my super-bad Inchworm sketch, and of course the one on the right is the finished watercolor version. I decided to change the 5th panel -- I thought the bird coming from the left side seemed inconsistent with all the other panels it was in. But I think I lost some of the action by changing it. :/ Something to practice for next time, I guess. I'm glad I left out all the words, though, I think it works better that way.

Also worth mentioning, I am open for commissions, I guess? We'll see how it goes. More info at the link, though.

Well, nothing punches productivity's gut like getting really sick, ha. Didn't get much of anything done, but now that I'm feeling a bit better, I started a new watercolor. I did the rough in Inchworm (yay), and it is Zelda: Skyward Sword related. I don't want to preview all of it yet (I guess it's a mini-comic? One-page comic? I don't remember what they call it), so this is just what I've done so far. I'm really looking forward to this game (Two months away<33) and it's nice to be watercoloring again. I don't know why I keep forgetting that I like doing this.

I was hoping to finish more, but I ran out of daylight. I also realized that I didn't leave enough room for the panel transitions, since I'm not drawing border lines. Whoops. Guess I'll have to fix that in post, haha.
